Will McCoy be the head coach for the start of the 2016 season?

I know that he signed a 1 year extension.  The LA fans can’t be too excited about that.  So why did the Spanos do it?  My take is that they want to show the other 31 owners who will vote in a few a days that this franchise is stable.  Once they get the vote I think he will be let go within 3 or 4 months.
