The answer is an emphatic NO!! Just look at a few things the Spanos’ didn’t do and did do.   I listen to sports 1360 and they say look at the $7 million that they spent on trying to get Measure C passed. My answer is all the Spanos had to do is reimburse the City of San Diego the $500,000 that it cost the city to put measure C on the ballot. That simple gesture would have gone a long ways in reducing some of the fans anger with the Spanos. The Spanos spent the $7,000,000 so to the other NFL owners Dean can say that I tried. Why did the Spanos choose downtown vs Mission Valley? The simple answer is he couldn’t lose. If Measure C passes he gets a brand new stadium which increases his team’s value and only spends a approximately a net of $200,000,000. If Measure C fails then he can show the other NFL owners that he tried so what else can he do. Also, a very little known possibility is that the NFL WILL sweeten the pot by reducing the LA relocation fee by a hundred million.
